There has to be a run on adopters rushing to animal shelters lately and promising to fill a dog’s life with hope and love, but then just days or weeks later, returning them back to the shelter and breaking their hearts.
At Daviess County Animal Care and Control in Owensboro, Kentucky, a friendly young dog named Badger, filled with energy and lots of love, had been adopted. Sadly, not long after, he was returned. His “family” offered no reasons for his return.
There is no doubt that Badger is heartbroken; what must it have felt like to have a home and then not have one? Badger needs a backyard to run and play; after his daily exercise; and young dogs do like to jaunt around with friends and family, this adorable boy is ready to snuggle.
badger is so smart and has been through a lot. he was returned by no fault of his own, which is why this post is so important and upsetting all at the same time.
This is what we know about this terrific dog from the adoring staff who has been caring for him. Badger is a pit bull terrier mix who is a year-and-a-half-old. He weighs 40 pounds. He is a volunteer favorite and “an absolute sweetheart.”
Badger loves peanut butter – great for training. He does well with other dogs, likes car rides and loves to play. He just doesn’t do well with cats.
Badger is young and needs the consistency of a home with a family who will give him the attention and love he deserves. His adoption fee has been paid.
