In Sabula, Iowa, a family who lost their eight-month-old puppy last month has been returned. Archie is an adorable Corgi puppy who had been missing for a long 27 days.
According to KcrgNews, it had been on July 1, in preparation for the Fourth of July festivities, that Troy Hansen had been getting ready to take the family dogs out for their nightly walk. It just turned out to be an unplanned bad timing event, because at that time a large firework display began, and Archie was so scared, he wiggled out of his chain collar and headed for cover obviously unaware where he was headed.
The family chased him for a half-hour, but eventually lost sight of him across town by the lakes and railroad tracks. It wasn’t long before Archie just disappeared into the night, leaving his family truly heartbroken .
The next day, the search continued, signs were placed all around the small town, social media posts were shared and even a psychic was called in – the family never gave up hope despite no sightings of their important family member.
And now we push ahead 27 days when the phone rang early in the morning at the Hansen home, and on the other end a lady named “Jill” spoke and said she had found Archie! The puppy had made it to the doorstep of the woman’s house almost 10 miles from where Archie lived and disappeared.
It wasn’t long after the phone call that the family was reunited with Archie which reinforces our message – NEVER GIVE UP.
Welcome home Archie. Your family sure did miss you.
