DC Fire and EMS crew rescued dog swimming in Washington Channel

District of Columbia fireboats and police harbor units were dispatched after a report of a dog spotted swimming in the Washington Channel on Tuesday.

According to a social media post on Twitter, a fireboat spotted the dog swimming near Haines Point. Officials explained that first responders had been able to safely rescue the dog from the water and reunite him with his owner.

There’s never enough good news to share, so many thanks to our big hearted rescuers again and again.
