Blind and injured senior found on streets of Dallas breaking hearts at shelter

UPDATE: We are so sorry. Snow White has been humanely euthanized.

A heartbreaking photo of an apparently blind and injured senior German shepherd being brought into a Dallas shelter on Thursday afternoon, has been breaking hearts. The 11-year-old male was found along the 1300 Block Burns Avenue in Dallas.

The dog, now named Snow White, will remain on stray hold until Monday, September 11. According to Dallas Urgent Shelter Dogs, volunteers continue to bring awareness and pledges to help an approved rescue organization provide the necessary veterinary services this dog will need. He has not been examined by the shelter’s veterinary staff at this time, but updates will be provided.

Please note, the group is run by advocates, not shelter employees. Decisions concerning the outcomes are made by the shelter alone.

Volunteers and advocates are reaching out for help. This is a developing story for a dog desperately in need of a kind heart. Every dog deserves kindness and love.
