Gillion is in grave danger. The five-year-old dog who barely weighs 18 pounds is on “Orange Alert” at the South Los Angeles Shelter in California.
Two weeks ago, perfect little Gillion arrived at the shelter full of fleas and ticks and a badly infected wound on his left hind leg. The shelter suspected his right hind leg had been fractured beyond repair. Nothing much was done to help Gillion; an adorable little guy with the sweetest personality, was just given pain medication. The shelter did not think Gillion had been hit by a car – what could have happened to this sweet, innocent pup?
Four days later, his leg became necrotic, and his right rear leg was amputated at mid femur. In addition, the shelter staff had to pull foxtails from his ears. At the same time, the veterinarians neutered him; what an absolutely horrible day for Gillion.
Gillion’s immune system has taken its toll, and today he presented with an upper respiratory infection which means he will be scheduled for euthanasia at anytime.
There is no doubt it is difficult to find adopters for tripods, but this little guy deserves better. Please share his plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives. Follow rescue efforts on Facebook here.
