The rescue team from the San Diego Humane Society rescued two defenseless puppies who were discovered trapped in a well on Friday in Kearny Mesa.
According to the Facebook page of the animal welfare organization, a caller alerted the rescuers to the three-month-old terrier mixes trapped in a ravine off Murphy Canyon Road. Six members of the emergency response team were dispatched and rappelled down into the gulley and found the crying puppies. Fortunately, the puppies were not injured and later given clean bills of health by the humane society’s veterinarians.
The puppies were not microchipped and are currently on stray hold for the next three days awaiting the arrival of their owner.
