On the urgent BARC Houston euthanasia list for Friday is Bear. Sadly his foster offer fell through and he will only be safe at the shelter until Friday afternoon. Dizzy Dog Animal Rescue has offered to save him, however they must have a local foster.
Bear was an owner surrender on September 5. He is described as a two-year-old Staffie mix weighing 49 pounds.
A volunteer offered this description of Bear:
He was an owner surrender and looked sooooo sad. After stepping into his kennel and baby talking him for a sec, he turned to mush, and lightly jumped on me to give kisses. Such a sweet boy, and so desperate for affection. He has a funky looking scar on his head too, and just I have a feeling he hasn’t ever been in good hands. Despite all of this, he walks well on the leash, did his business outside, and met a few dogs and did well. He very curious and forward, but friendly, and maintained a wagging tail throughout the interactions. We did the only thing we could think of, to get him the extra attention a plain brown pittie will need. Bear pjs. He actually wasn’t a fan of them LOL but I hope it helps him.
Check out how calm Bear is in one of his temp tests.
Moments to enjoy for Bear when he gets to run around in dog zoomie mode:
Bear’s life is hanging by a thread, and it shouldn’t be this way for a young, happy dog who could have a wonderful future full of fun and love. Please share for a foster home or if you would like, please adopt this delightful pooch.
