At the Miami-Dade Animal Services, four-year-old Sophie is in grave danger of being humanely euthanized this week unless she is rescued. She arrived at the shelter on Sunday, September 24 and will be available for rescue because of her immediate medical needs not able to be provided by the shelter.
Information released by the shelter indicates Sophie is overweight, has congenital abnormalities to her spine with a shortened thoracic cavity and also has interdigital masses.

Please share Sophia’s plight. It is so sad that dogs like this are too often abandoned because of avoidable problems stemming from careless breeding. It’s not Sophia’s fault, but she will ultimately pay with her life if no one steps forward to help. If you’re willing to foster for the shelter and you live in either Broward or Dade County, you will need to go to the shelter in person to complete the necessary paperwork. If interested in fostering for a rescue, you will need to find a rescue that is partnered with the shelter that will pull for you to foster.
