At Anita’s Stevens Swan Humane Society in Upstate New York, a smiling Labrador retriever mix aptly named “Sugar” is hoping social media participation can help find her a loving home.
Sugar is definitely one sweet girl, and through no fault of her own has been at the shelter for two years. In April 2022, the one-and-a-half-year-old dog had been abandoned by her owner, and since then she has been at the shelter. The highlight of her day is getting out of her kennel. In the summer, she loves running out in the yard and playing with toys. This adorable gal is treat-motivated, and be careful of spraining your neck, watching Sugar endlessly doing zoomies in the yard.
Because Sugar does not get much interest, we have been continuously working on having her meet new staff and volunteers, and she has done great with proper introductions. She is all about giving hugs, kisses, and just being loved on. Sugar does need a home without cats, as she is not a big fan of them. However, Sugar does get along with other dogs. Please help us find a sweet home for Sugar; she does not deserve another day in the shelter
Please share Sugar’s story with friends, family and social media contacts.
