In Villa Rica, Georgia, a family was frantic trying to find their puppy who loves to run and play in the yard. It had only been a few days ago when one-year-old Lulu ran through the invisible fence and disappeared. The family immediately searched for their puppy, only to be told at the front gate of their community, that the Amazon driver had picked Lulu up and left with their dog.
According to the dog’s owner, Karen Ferranti, the guard at the gate told the driver to let the dog go, and she would find her way back home, but the driver said he was going to take her to animal control. Ferranti admitted the driver was likely trying to help, but he should never have taken the dog with him in his truck.
It took a report to the police and to Amazon to finally track Lulu’s whereabouts. The pup had been picked up 70 miles away from her home by a woman who called the veterinarian’s phone number attached to the dog’s collar. The woman who called the vet had been the third person rom the warehouse to have had Lulu.
Lulu has since been returned, but Ferranti wants Amazon to change and clarify their position on animals.

Ferranti remains frustrated about the company’s policy and started a Facebook group called Amazon took my pet.
I made this Group to help people who have their dogs or cats taken by Amazon or any delivery driver. We will always have people in society who will do things like this. I don’t fault Amazon for hiring these drivers. Amazon can not vet everyone perfectly. I also do not believe all Amazon drivers are thieves. In my case their is a chance the driver was actually trying to help. Most are just regular people trying to do their job. What I do fault Amazon for is the lack of response when it does happen and people have clear evidence of it. They put so much energy into hiding contact information to the local warehouse or sort centers. Then wait hours or days to actually contact them internally. I believe they are so worried about liability, this becomes their liability [spelling corrections made]
According to Fox, Amazon does have procedures in place, however this time it was not followed.
