Mother dog with 4 tiny puppies sat in front of Dollar General door hoping for help

Admin

A devoted mother dog, with her puppies right behind her in tow, sat in front of a Dollar General store in Jetersville, Virginia over the weekend. Scarred and malnourished, she sat quietly outside of the door; her eyes locked searching through the glass door, as if begging for someone to help her and the litter of approximately two-week-old puppies she had been trying her best to protect, care and feed.

The Good Samaritan who spotted the dog reaching out for help, notified both Richmond Animal Care and Control as well as Amelia County Sheriff’s Office for assistance. Fortunately, Amelia Animal Shelter – Virginia has come to their aid.

She is such a sweet girl – check out her video:

Mom and the babies went to the vet today and got all checked out, pedicures and some meds to get all of them on the right track. Momma aka Izzy, is such a love bug. Everyone is doing good and eating well. We will update their progress soon.
