In Milton, Georgia, “Owen the Owl” owes his life to a compassionate Milton Police Department officer who had been driving along Highway 9 when he spotted the owl sitting in the middle of the road. It had been on December 22, when Officer Charles Fannon turned his patrol car around and rescued the injured bird.

According to the Milton Police Department Facebook page, Officer Fannon has experience with these animals, and after meeting with Sgt. West, it was determined that Owen had been hit by a car. They reached out to Veterinary Emergency Group, and they were able to take Owen in. He spent the night there before going to a rehabilitation center.

Owen was transferred to HawkTalk, Inc and less than a week after he arrived, Owen was feeling like his old owl self and ready to be freed.

We have a happy ending!
