People walk past me with indifferent, emotionless looks, and it makes me feel so sad ‎

Every day, I sit quietly in the same place, watching people rush by. They pass me with hurried steps, their faces cold, their eyes empty. Not a smile, not a glance, not a sign that they even notice I exist. People walk past me with indifferent, emotionless looks, and it makes me feel so sad.

I am just a small cat, sitting by the sidewalk, waiting for someone to care. I do not ask for much—just a kind word, a gentle touch, or even a soft smile. But instead, I see people who are too busy, too distant, and too lost in their own world to stop. Their faces are like stone, showing no feelings. To them, I am invisible, like a shadow they do not need to see.

What hurts the most is not being alone. It is being surrounded by people but still feeling unseen, like I do not matter. When someone looks at you with empty eyes, it is as if they have already decided you are not important. That silent rejection is more painful than words.

Why do people become so indifferent? Perhaps they are busy, worried, or simply used to seeing animals like me on the street. But still, a small act of kindness costs nothing. A simple look can say, “I see you.” A gentle smile can bring light to a sad heart. I wonder how many others feel this same sadness, passed by every day as if they are nothing.

Sometimes I dream of a day when someone will stop, kneel beside me, and say, “Hello, little one.” I dream of finding someone who will notice me—not as a problem, not as something to ignore, but as a life that matters. I dream of a world where hearts are not closed, where faces are not cold, and where everyone, even a small cat like me, can feel that they belong.

When people walk past me with indifferent, emotionless looks, it makes me feel so sad. But I still hope. I hope that one day, someone will stop. Someone will care. And maybe, just maybe, they will see me not as a forgotten soul, but as a friend waiting to be loved.
