Shelter besties who still don’t have homes are the ultimate ‘cuddle puddles’

Admin

At the Bradshaw Animal Shelter in Sacramento, California, three good pals kept themselves warm and entertained together even though they had not been adopted; Freckles, Cary Grant and Bandit. Together, the staff had dubbed the three friendly pups, “cuddle puddles” – complete with a recipe mixed with lots of love.

And now according to the shelter, it’s not very often one can make a “cuddle puddle” since there are several specific things needed, and most importantly, this recipe does not initially allow for any substitutions.

First they started with the ingredients:

– At least three (3) very friendly pets
– At least the same number of available beds as there are pets, but all pets must choose the same one (1) bed
– An animal shelter

And now for the recipe instructions:

  • – Place the friendly pets in the same room as the beds. There is no specified time period; which could range from 10 minutes to 10 days for the “cuddle” to begin. When at least two of the pets are sharing the same bed, just watch and don’t mix. The recipe is adoringly complete when all three dogs are in one bed, cuddled and intertwined together and asleep.

This recipe belongs to the Bradshaw Animal Shelter, and the dogs had all bonded since entering the shelter.

Pretty adorable wouldn’t you agree?

“This cuddle puddle is brought to you by (from left to right): adoptable Freckles (animal ID A845251), Bandit (animal ID A842493), and Cary Grant (animal ID A845529). These three recently met at our shelter and became instant friends! They would love to find three new forever homes and go on to recreate the cuddle puddle recipe outside of the shelter environment.”

In all fairness, the shelter did include some substitutes to the recipe. For instance, once one of the dogs is adopted, two new humans could be a new “puddle” recipe. How about two pets and one person? And if there are other pets in the home, maybe increase the recipe by one or two for a larger “puddle” or how about two “puddles.”?

These guys are no longer listed as available, and our hearts and souls are hoping they are all doing well and happy, but the issue of overcrowding at the shelter still exists. Every kennel is full, and there are still lots of all too adorable ingredients available at the shelter to make more “cuddle puppies.”

Here we have a Happy New Year sweetheart.

“Big Handsome Baby and chip connoisseur Samson weighs 95 lbs., but truth be told, he doesn’t look a pound over 89. In his spare time, he enjoys collapsing into laps and receiving head massages and belly rubs. Samson participates in doggie playgroups at our shelter and has gotten along with every dog he’s met, so if you have a dog at home who would like a new friend, there’s a pretty good chance that they’ll hit it off with Samson.” (May we remind you of another cuddle puddle?

Samson is house trained, and it is suspected if you come to meet this husky fellow, you will fall in love. Refer to #A849136 for more information.

Okay … how about these two ladies with discerning taste?

Jenny, animal ID A847364, and Mamas, animal ID A847987 have become friends at the shelter, although no one has requested to adopt either one of them, which to these two ladies is just “so annoying.” Even though they have become friends at the shelter, they are looking for two separate homes. They would most likely do well with well-matched dog friends in their new homes.
