Here he is, “the bestest black dog ever”! On Sunday and barely a week into the New Year 2024, this very sweet nine-year-old pup was surrendered to Dallas Animal Services. It had been a volunteer from the shelter who saw the heartbreaking scene.
She posted his photo on social media with the saddest explanation:
PLEASE SOMEONE GET THIS OLDER GUY OUT
I saw him being surrendered yesterday the whole time in my mind I was saying to myself please don’t let him go in there
He was in the car with another dog and was being walked with another dog. I don’t know the situation, but he was with another dog, so dog friendly.

There isn’t much information on this dog yet, however the emergency need for rescue is real. Surrendered and senior dogs are the first pets to be euthanized at the crowded shelters. Dallas Animal Services is currently over capacity.
