In the Fresno area, one day after Christmas, two women had been on an afternoon walk when they heard a heart wrenching cry in the field behind their office. They hurried towards the sounds, and there she was, a sweet dog tethered to a board to the point where she was not able to move. It was impossible to know how long she had been out there that way, but more than likely she would not have survived another day.
The Good Samaritans released her from her bindings, and as she stretched, shook and ran around finally feeling freedom again, the “gratefulness in her eyes was so pure.” She didn’t run, bark, bite or turn on the women. She walked over to a puddle and lapped up some rain water and waited by them until help arrived.
The Fresno Animal Center is currently caring for her; they have named her Chuckles. She looks as though she recently had a litter of puppies, but the little ones were no where around the area where she was found.
Her exterior might be rough but she’s such a sweetheart and just needs a family to love up on her.
