A Dream Becomes Reality
Lee Asher’s lifelong dream was to create a sanctuary where discarded and unwanted animals could find love, protection, and freedom. This dream materialized with the purchase of The Asher House, a spacious property in Estacada, Oregon, where his rescued animals now thrive.
A Bond Unbreakable
The heart and soul of The Asher House was Lillie, a Saint Bernard dog who Lee had rescued from the brink of death. Lillie’s story was one of resilience and unwavering spirit.
Found sleeping in a puddle on the street, Lillie was near death when animal control discovered her. Despite her critical condition, Lee remained by her side, offering unwavering support and love.
Through countless challenges and sleepless nights, Lee nursed Lillie back to health. Their bond deepened with each passing day, and Lillie became the heart and soul of The Asher House.
Tragically, in January 2024, Lillie passed away, leaving a void in Lee’s heart. As he mourned his beloved companion, Lee received a message that would forever change his life.
A Serendipitous Encounter
On the same day that Lillie passed away, Lee received an email about a Saint Bernard puppy in need of rescue. The timing was uncanny, and Lee couldn’t shake the feeling that it was a sign from Lillie.
When he saw the puppy, named Ranger, he was immediately captivated. The resemblance to Lillie was uncanny, and Lee felt a surge of hope and joy.
A New Beginning
Ranger became an official member of The Asher House family, filling the void left by Lillie’s passing. Lee believed that Lillie had sent Ranger as a final gift, a beacon of light in the darkness of his grief.
Ranger’s arrival brought renewed purpose and joy to The Asher House. He joined the pack of rescued animals, finding love, companionship, and a forever home.
Lillie’s legacy lives on through Ranger and the countless other animals who have found refuge at The Asher House. Her story is a testament to the enduring bond between humans and animals and the power of love to heal even the deepest wounds.
