Left shivering out in the cold in a frost-covered crate overnight, Marco had been abandoned and left on the property of the Humane Society of Catawba County in North Carolina. His tiny “frost covered crate” prison left him scared to death, and in a cage much too small for him to move around in order to try his best to stay warm. When discovered by the rescue organization’s staff the next morning, the severely malnourished pup couldn’t stop shaking; both from the cold and having been scared to death.
As the staff brought Marco into the building to warm up and remove him from his crate, the dog flinched as if he had been been in the past. Had Marco ever been loved?
our hearts broke for this poor dog! As soon as he was brought into the shelter and understood we were there to help, all he wanted to do was to curl up in our laps and give us kisses.
Marco was soon placed in a wonderful foster home where he gained weight and has been working on his crate and house training. This spunky and sweet little guy has been letting go of the past and looking forward to his future.
And guess what?
Now here’s a happy story to inspire all rescuers and animal advocates for happy endings. One day after the Humane Society posted about Marco on Facebook, he was adopted. His new family saw his photo and instantly fell in love.
Live a long and wonderful life Marco.
