In Fresno County, California, it was a Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy who saved the lives of two innocent and adorable puppies an unknown heartless person abandoned on the side of the road of a busy highway in the pouring rain.

According to the Facebook page for the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Andrew Rechsteiner had been on patrol late last week when he was alerted to abandoned puppies on the side of the road at Oakland Ave. and El Dorado Ave., near Coalinga. Deputy Rechsteiner responded to the area and found two puppies huddled up in a vineyard next to the busy roadway. He was able to get the dogs into his patrol vehicle and wrapped them in towels to warm them up.

The puppies have been turned over to Fresno Humane Animal Services for care. They are reported to be in good condition. The puppies are expected to be up for adoption soon.
