At the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina in North Carolina, two-year-old Buxton is in need of a special friend who will be patient and loving.
This handsome pooch has certainly had a rough life. Fortunately, some Good Samaritans found him on the side of the road and contacted the animal welfare organization asking for help for this very frightened dog.
It wasn’t long after Buxton arrived that he was adopted, but Buxton’s needs didn’t fit in with the active family; this scared boy needed a quiet and peaceful home.
This handsome man was recently returned due to no fault of his own. Buxton can be a little apprehensive about new things and people, but he loves going on walks with volunteers and trying to be the biggest, bravest boy he can be! Buxton is medium-sized, so it is perfect for someone who likes the smaller things in life. .
So here we go; he would probably do best with an all adult household or one with older kids who can give him time alone to unwind and slowly adjust to life with people he can trust.
So far, Buxton has been making awesome strides and is slowly becoming more confident. He loves to go for walks, is meeting new people and is enjoying life more every day. Sure, it takes awhile to build Buxton’s trust, but boy is he worth it!
Buxton did test positive for heartworms, but he is being treated successfully. Please consult your vet on what it means to adopt a heartworm-positive dog.
