In Burton, Michigan Bill Boski has been hailed as a hero in the odd story about a raccoon rescuer. Yes, you read that correctly; it’s a great story!
Boski and two of his friends had been enjoying a bonfire outdoors in his backyard when one of the men noticed a raccoon approaching them and appearing to be quite friendly. Boski lives in a rural area with an abundance of wildlife.
Boski’s friend, John Ptaszenski noted the raccoon came closer to them and allowed them to pet it; the wild animal even climbed onto the man’s leg. Everyone laughed and enjoyed the moments; something cool to talk about we’re sure.
Moments later, the raccoon ran into their trash and came out with what appeared to be a piece of cheese, but as he was eating it, he started to choke.
Suddenly the raccoon stood up on his hind legs; the strange act from the animal prompted the men to see what was going on with it, and that’s when they noticed – the raccoon was choking!
Now here’s the hero part. Would you do this?
Boski went behind the animal and started doing a life saving maneuver on the raccoon. His friend was shocked and laughed while he watched while Boski repeatedly hit the animal on its back.

Immediately after, the piece of food choking the raccoon flew out of its mouth!
So how did everyone feel after that? Boski said he was glad, and after posting the video on TikTok and Instagram, with more than 17 million viewers, the video even made its rounds on Facebook. Everyone has been calling him a hero – let’s face it – all heroes don’t have to wear red capes.
As for the raccoon, the men have named him Rocket after the character from “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
