Two-year-old German shepherd mix, Alfred managed to survive a past of neglect and cruelty, but he is described to be overwhelmed at Dallas Animal Services in Texas and has been placed on the list to be euthanized. In May, Albert had been confiscated by animal control officers for suspected animal cruelty.
According to shelter notes, however, Alfred has been observed as “shy, ears slightly down, wagging tail and calm.”
Let’s learn more about Alfred, with the hopes readers will share his plight immediately, and someone special will step up to give this boy his second chance. Volunteers also describe him as having a calm demeanor and a love for lounging.
this big guy might be a bit on the shy side, but don’t let that fool you – he’s got a tail that wags with joy and a gentle soul that doesn’t mind the company of other dogs. His reserved nature makes him a perfect fit for those looking a relaxed and easy-going companion.
Facebook shelter notes
On the playground, June 10,2024) Alfred was gentle and timid. He did not interact with other dogs much, and stayed to himself sniffing and exploring. He was however tolerant of other dogs and didn’t seem to mind them greeting him.
As of Saturday, June 22, Alfred remained available and on the euthanasia list. He is still listed for adoption, and we are hoping everyone will give him one more chance by making sure his story is shared with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts.
A volunteer posted the urgent plea to save this young dog’s life:
Alfred Survived animal cruelty only to be euthanized. Yes Alfred is overwhelmed in the shelter. Yes he is a great dog. He just needs someone with wisdom and patience and someone who will adopt or foster a dog because he survived cruelty and they want him to know kindness. And truly be kind. We are on the clock and needs a commitment
