In Bolton, located in the northwest section of England, the owner of a dog was banned for five years on Friday from owning any pets, after a video showed him attacking his Staffordshire bull terrier who had been sleeping on a chair.
According to the Metro News, Kieran Huelin, 36, was identified by RSPCA Inspector Danni Jennings as the man in the video seen hitting and shouting at the dog named Rosie on June 14. The entire video was too shocking to show. Rosie was surrendered to the RSPCA by Huelin during the investigation.
“Rosie is a lovely and bouncy dog in real life but on this footage she is quite the opposite,” Inspector Jennings stated. “Training should always be reward-based and should not include physical punishment as this may cause pain, suffering and distress.”
Huelin pleaded guilty to one count of animal cruelty and was also ordered to pay fines and a victim surcharge.
