German shepherd left tied to tree in Amityville park

In Amityville, New York, the Suffolk County SPCA  has offered a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who left a German shepherd tied to a tree on Tuesday.

According to the humane organization’s press release, the male shepherd was discovered on New Horizons Boulevard near the Town of Babylon in the morning. He was taken to a veterinary hospital for a physical examination. The dog’s age is not known.

The Suffolk County SPCA is offering a $2,000 reward. Abandonment of an animal is a crime. Suffolk County SPCA detectives have been investigating and canvassing the area for witnesses of this abandonment.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the organization at 631.372.7722. Information will be kept confidential. Be the voice for this dog – our companion animals deserve better than to be abandoned.
