In Chelsea, Manhattan, a man and his dog asleep on a bench at the subway station, were stabbed early Wednesday morning. The victim, Anthony Alexander, a 34-yeaar-old homeless man had been in an argument with another man.
According to the Daily News, as the altercation escalated between the men; the suspect stabbed the man in the calf. He also stabbed the man’s Rottweiler in his hind leg. The unidentified suspect, believed to have been homeless also, ran away. The victim was transported to Bellevue Hospital for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.
The suspect is described a black man in his 30s, wearing black pants, a brown jacket and a black hat; he was accompanied by a woman.
The dog has been brought to one of the city’s shelters and is in stable condition.
It is not known if the dog will be reunited with his owner.
