At the San Antonio Animal Care Center in Texas, a Weimaraner sat for days struggling to walk; she appeared to be in pain and needed help quickly. Her heartbreaking story was shared more than a 1,000 times. Dallas Dog RRR came to her rescue on Tuesday.
Sadly, the dog had been released to be euthanized. The shelter is only able to provide “basic vet care.” Staff were able to tape/gauze the dog’s leg.
“This DOG – ID#A556180
I am a female, gray Weimaraner blend. My age is unknown. I was found and am currently at San Antonio Animal Care Services. If you are my owner please make arrangements to pick me up between 11am and noon on 11/16/2019 or immediately head down to our shelter to reclaim. For owner reclaim questions: email [email protected] or call 210-207-6662.
Veterinarians reported the dog suffered from breaks to both her tibia and fibula on her left leg. Her right hind leg suffered from a broken hip; the injuries however are reparable.
On Tuesday, (previously named Fiona) Noel was on her way and being prepared to undergo surgery to stabilize her hip and then repair her leg. Her lungs show contusions likely caused from being hit by a vehicle. Although that is a concern, veterinarians decided to proceed with the surgery.
