In Chonburi, Thailand, several kind-hearted residents rescued a dog tied in a black garbage bag that had been thrown in a canal. On Tuesday morning, Tawan Chanthakanok, 27, had been working nearby when he heard a dog crying.
According to the Daily Mail, the Good Samaritan searched out the location of the cries and noticed a large black bag on the edge of the canal. Emergency services arrived and the men climbed over a 13 foot high fence and used a rope to pull the dog to safety. It is suspected the dog had been in the bag in freezing weather overnight with no water or food.
“When the dog was brought up it was hardly breathing and too weak to move. The police told me that the dog could have died if it had been left just a few hours longer. I cannot understand how anybody could be cruel enough to treat a poor little dog like this,” Chanthakanok told the news media.
The dog has been under the care of a rescue organization and is expected to recover. He will be made available for adoption when he feels better.
Get well soon pup. We are sorry some human failed you, but there are angels out here who still watch over precious lives just like yours.
