Senior dog’s journey should not end alone and scared at crowded shelter

Quincy is a senior German shepherd who arrived at the SEAACA shelter in Downey, California. He likely had a hard time walking into the shelter – his right hind leg isn’t working quite like it should. Sadly, no one wants to adopt him; there have been no offers, and he is now labeled “Code Red.”

A shelter volunteer tells Quincy’s heartbreaking story:

“This is not where your journey should end, Quincy. Broken, alone & scared…And the shelter knew when they saw Quincy walk in that no one was going to adopt him…

Quincy was immediately placed on the shelter Code Red list. They will not keep him much longer.

Quincy is a 95 pound senior German Shepherd with right hind leg lameness. The shelter says he does not like it when they restrain him. Quincy likely knows they aren’t going to take him anywhere good.”
