Buddy was discovered in a mobile home park in Slidell; his owners told investigators that their dog had been paralyzed in his rear legs after being shot in early 2019. He was discovered lying in the rain and was rushed to the Lakeshore Veterinarian Hospital by a Good Samaritan. There he received a blood transfusion. Two bullets had been lodged in his back but had not been the cause of the dog’s paralysis. Buddy did have use of his nubs
The owner’s daughter claimed Buddy had been shot in February causing paralysis, and the dog’s legs fell off because the bandages were too tight – she claimed the bandages were to keep the dog’s legs from becoming sore as he dragged them.
Buddy was cared for by Dante’s Hope Animal Rescue East. He now has his own Facebook page, Buddy the little dog that survived.
