The Houston SPCA came to the rescue of a young dog being abused by his owner this week. A surveillance video captured the disturbing scene as the dog’s owner repeatedly kicked, shoved and stomped on his two-year-old dog for more than 23 times.
Equally as disturbing, the surveillance video also showed the owner blast water directly into the dog’s face with a power washer as the dog was restrained with a short chain. In addition, he poured ketchup, soap and peroxide on the dog’s face, injuring one of the dog’s eyes.
The dog has since been taken in by the Houston SPCA who are now attending to her injuries – both physical and emotional. A seizure warrant was served by Harris County Constable Precinct 1 which also included seizing a cat found at the same premises and is also in the care of the Houston SPCA
Officials said the suspect will appear before a judge at a hearing on March 6. Animal cruelty is a felony in Texas, punishable by a $10,000 fine and up to two years in prison.
If you suspect an animal has been subjected to Animal Cruelty, please call 713-869-7722 or file a report online at Houstonspca.org/report.
Although this kind of news is not pleasant to read, we want to remind everyone if you see something, say something. These two pets were rescued because someone reported the horrible abuse. We MUST be the voices for those who cannot speak.
