Puppy rescued from rubble amid Butte County fire

Admin

In Berry Creek, California, a puppy was found amid the rubble of the Bear fire at a property by search and rescue crews on Friday.

According to CbsSacramento, the puppy had been covered in soot when rescuers found him hiding in a section of a metal engine. The lucky little pooch only suffered minor injuries and burns. His rescuers named him Trooper. He was transported to a veterinary office in Chico for treatment.

Authorities have since learned the owner of the property had several dogs and was not able to rescue all of them as the fire swiftly approached his home.

The pup will be reunited with his family.

Nine people have lost their lives in the fires while more than a dozen people remain missing.
