In West Manheim Township, Pennsylvania, a 56-year-old woman accused of trying to run over police with her vehicle as they oversaw the rescue of 14 dogs and other animals that had been living in “abhorrent conditions” has been arrested.
The owner of the dogs, Michelle Baldwin, had been prohibited from owning animals because of past animal cruelty charges. According to Penn Live, three dead animals were discovered. Baldwin became confrontational with police and has a history of aggression towards law enforcement.
When she returned home, the police report stated she gunned her car down the driveway towards the officers and appeared to be screaming. Baldwin tried multiple times to ram her vehicle into the police officers, and when one of the officers pulled his gun, Baldwin sped off and was later arrested after a high speed chase.
She now faces six counts of aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault and one count of fleeing or attempting to elude police.
