At the San Bernardino Animal Shelter in California, a five-year-old terrified dog was found hiding behind a washing machine in the abandoned home where his family left him to die. When discovered, he was shaking and starving. Animal Control picked him up and placed him in a kennel where he barely moved for two weeks until he was finally allowed to be released.
According to the SoCal Animal Rescue Squad who rescued the dog dubbed Boomer on Saturday, volunteers arrived at the shelter and Boomer who has been so traumatized by his abandonment, was brought out in a crate.
“He hid his face in fear, but somehow he knew he was safe. His healing begins today. Covered in ticks, fragile and terrified, he will receive the medical care he needs to begin healing from his body, and his foster family will begin to help him heal from feeling abandoned and neglected,” the organization posted on their Facebook page.

“The trauma these poor discarded animals suffer at the hands of humans is unimaginable to those of us who love our pets. Yet somehow they are able to overcome their past and forgive and learn to love again.”
