Brother Wolf Animal Rescue caring for abandoned cats thrown through door in shocking video

Admin

An act of cruelty has gone viral after Brother Wolf Animal Rescue in Asheville, North Carolina, shared a disturbing video on Instagram. The video shows a cardboard box being tossed into the shelter’s lobby. When opened, the box reveals two frightened cats who had been heartlessly abandoned.

Somebody tossed two cats in our lobby. They opened the door, tossed a box in – sliding it across the floor, then ran out to a car waiting in the road that sped away.

We always try to give people the benefit of the doubt. Not make quick judgments. Check our biases. Not to shame them for needing help. Some days, it is really hard to do that. Today is one of those days.

This is not the way to do it. Not when you cause unnecessary stress to a helpless, confused animal.

For now, they have a quiet and safe space to decompress.

The video quickly gained traction, (76,000 views on Facebook and 186,000+ on Instagram) sparking outrage among animal lovers. The callous act of dumping pets at a shelter, especially in such a careless manner, is a major concern for rescue organizations. Many viewers expressed their anger in the comments section, highlighting the importance of responsible pet ownership.

Despite the unfortunate circumstances of their arrival, there’s a silver lining to this story. Brother Wolf staff took the cats, who were identified with the names Juniper and Theodore written on the box, into their care. The shelter will provide them with medical attention, ensure their well-being, and hopefully find them loving forever homes.

The latest updates on the organization’s Facebook page tell us the two cats are finally warming up to human kindness although Theodore isn’t ready to be touched yet.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of supporting animal shelters. Brother Wolf, like many rescues, relies on public donations and volunteers to care for abandoned and unwanted animals.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Consider adopting: If you’re looking for a furry friend, visit Brother Wolf Animal Rescue’s website here.
  • Donate: Financial contributions allow shelters to provide essential medical care, food, and shelter for animals in need.
  • Volunteer: Shelters often need volunteers for a variety of tasks, from walking dogs to socializing cats.

By working together, we can ensure that all animals, including Juniper and Theodore, have a chance at a happy and healthy life.
