More than 150 animals rescued from abandoned ‘show barn’ in Titusville

Admin

More than 150 animals were rescued on Thursday from an abandoned property in Titusville, Pennsylvania from what was once a “show barn.”

According to the ANNA Shelter, many dead animals that had starved to death were discovered on the premises. As for the surviving animals, the count so far includes two chinchillas, 70 “show chickens” (Guinea hens, Silkies, Polish etc.) and 85 “show rabbits” (Lops, Mini Lops, Tans, Jersey Woolies, Dwarfs, New Zealand Reds and Californians)

“All of these animals were from a show barn that went awry,” the shelter posted on Facebook while removing the animals were ongoing.

The animals all require immediate care, and the shelter is also looking for people who can give these animals homes once they are vetted and ready for adoption.

“Housing this many animals is going to be a challenge in an of itself.”

No information has been released if the owners of the barn are facing charges at this time.
