Puppy bitten by rattlesnake receiving life-saving treatment

Admin

In Wichita, Kansas, a 10-week-old puppy named Taz, had been out on a walk Tuesday afternoon when he was bitten under the eye by a rattlesnake. He was rushed to an emergency veterinarian where he was surrendered. The hospital staff reached out to Beauties and Beasts, Inc. for help.

The puppy was in extreme pain and received high doses of pain medication and intravenous fluids. The anti-venom was immediately administered on intake, but unfortunately Taz’s blood clotting times doubled requiring another anti-venom serum.

The swelling has traveled down from under his eye to his neck and to his right cheek. He is carefully being monitored to make sure his airway does not close. At this time the puppy’s prognosis is poor to fair. So far his veterinary expenses are close to $3,000.

Donations are needed to ensure this little guy has ever chance for survival.

Any amount will help tremendously and make a big difference to an innocent little life in crisis.
