In Birmingham, United Kingdom, two cruel men were spotted tying a pigeon upside down by its legs to a tree branch and then encouraging their dogs to jump up and catch the panicky bird. The disturbing incident occurred on April 8, and authorities have asked for the public’s help identifying the men responsible for the heinous act.
According to the Express &Star News, RSPCA rescuers arrived to help in Sutton Coldfield on Walmley Ash Lane. Eyewitnesses told authorities they saw the two men tying something to the tree and then encouraged their dogs to jump and try to catch it.
The Good Samaritans found the helpless bird left tied by its legs to the branch with a cable flapping its wings after the men left.
The bird, which has since been released back into the wild was treated by the organization’s veterinarian and released. The RSPCA needs your help to bring this poor creature some justice.
“The members of the public who witnessed this event also believe that the same people were shooting pigeons at the same location the previous week and reported it to the police.
The two men drove a black Land Cruiser style vehicle with a woman passenger.
“We’re really keen to hear from anyone who has any information on who did this to the pigeon and urge anyone who has any information to contact us on our Inspectorate Appeal Line 0300 123 8018.”
