In Yellowstone National Park a golden doodle missing for more than a week has been spotted and reported still alive.
According to his owner, Mike Matsis and a Facebook group, PeteThomasOutdoors, the dog named Delta, has been sighted near Artists Paintpots which is located south of the Norris Geyser Basin. The dog has not responded to people calling her nor has she paid any attention to park rangers trying to capture her.
Dogs are not permitted to be off-leash inside of the park and are only allowed in certain areas either leashed, crated or inside of a vehicle. Dogs are not allowed on hiking trails, in the back country or on boardwalks.
It is feared Delta could fall prey to large predators.
“The rangers are trying very hard to trap her and we don’t want anyone to interfere with their efforts. We also have a group of dog rescuers that are going to come out and help us this weekend. We will be living in the park until we get her back,” Matsis wrote on social media.
