In Miami Beach, Florida, one of the families struggling with the tragic collapse of the Champlain Towers South collapse was given a miracle on Friday afternoon; their missing cat, Binx was found alive.
According to 7NewsMiami, Binx lived in unit 904 and had been missing since the night the building partially collapsed. The black cat had been wandering near the area, and a Good Samaritan found him and brought him to a rescue center in Miami Beach.
Binx’s family, Angela and Deven Gonzalez were seriously injured in the collapse; Edgar Gonzalez remains missing.
“In the middle of this sadness, we were hoping for good news either for any survivors or any pet,” family friend Maria Gaspari told reporters. “As you may know, pets are family, and this is a miracle…”
The cat belongs to Deven, and it will certainly help in the youngster’s recovery knowing Binx will be there for her.
Many thanks to Kitty Campus, Operation PAW and SoBe Cats working together to save Binx and reunite him with his family.
