Cow rescued from tree after getting stuck in floodwaters in St. Bernard Parish

Admin

A cow was rescued on Tuesday after she became stuck in a tree as floodwaters rose in St. Bernard Parish in Louisiana following Hurricane Ida.

According to the St. Bernard Government Facebook page, workers were captured on video cutting limbs on the tree to free the distressed cow. The workers used a chainsaw to cut away the branches – a very brave deed since they were standing in waist deep water during the rescue.

Governor John Edwards warned residents who had evacuated not to return home at this time. Nearly one million homes are still without power while temperatures and humidity near 100 degrees. Supply chain disruptions including access to gas for generators has been difficult to find.

Many thanks to Louis Pomes and Parish Government workers, Tyler Acosta, David Palmer and Roy Ragan Sr. for their help. We hope the cow is recovering.
