At the Stanly County Animal Protective Services in North Carolina, three dogs broke through a window of an abandoned apartment a few months ago in order to survive. Two of the dogs have since been adopted, but “Rex” is still waiting at the shelter.
rex needs an adopter or a rescue! …long time at shelter and deserves his forever home. He was abandoned and left in an apartment with 2 other dogs to fend for themselves. They ended up busting out a window in order to survive…

It had been shortly after the other two dogs found homes, when the shelter staff were ecstatic that Rex had also found a home. Unfortunately, it was only two days later that Rex was returned dud to no fault of his own. The adopter had not cleared adopting a dog with the owner of the home, and back he came.
This “sweet and loving” dog gets overlooked all the time; most likely because he is black. He deserves a new life outside of a kennel. The staff has described him as “high energy” however he settles down after exercise and is ready to snooze, love and of course – be loved.
Rex would make a great running partner. He is fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and after adoption will be neutered and microchipped. If you would like to meet Rex please send us an email.
Sadly, Rex has been failed so many times that he is starting to show the stresses of his past life. Please share his plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts to give Rex the future this sweet dog deserves.
