In South Texas, an extremely neglected mother dog chained to a tree by her owner has not been able to protect her nine puppies estimated to be no more than a month old. When Rescue Dogs Rock NYC were forwarded a short video showing the mother dog chained, helplessly watching her puppies running close to a busy road and most likely to be killed, they knew they had to help.

The rescue organization knows how difficult it is at this time to find foster homes to care for the family and the costs involved with their anticipated veterinary expenses, but chose to try their best to save the ten valuable lives. At this time the main concern is finding foster homes.
“Mom is in very poor condition, from years of abuse and neglect. The puppies are about one month old and have never been seen by a vet. We are desperate for any help.”

The mother dog has been named Mattie; she is filthy, matted and has been severely neglected. The dogs are all safe now, but they are not in an ideal place and must be moved out of South Texas as quickly as possible.
