When a kind stranger came upon a small dog whose mouth had been tied shut with a metal wire, he called upon the Kansas Humane Society for help. The wire had become so deeply embedded in the soft tissue of the dog’s muzzle, it had exposed the bones on her nose.
The non-profit rescue organization stepped in and brought her to Wichita Animal Services and have placed her with an emergency foster home where she will be receiving the medical care needed.
“It is absolutely heartbreaking to see abuse like this, especially when the dog is still incredibly friendly and loving despite the horrors she had been through. She loves being around people and wants nothing more than your love and attention.”

The dog will continue to be made comfortable with pain medication and antibiotics and will be evaluated to see if more aggressive treatment is needed. She’s now with one of the organization’s most experienced foster families; they have not decided on a name for her as of this time.
This gal has a long road to recovery ahead of her. The person responsible for this heinous cruelty has not been found.
