In San Carlos, Texas, the road to feeling better has been paved with a village of rescuers determined to save the life of a dog who didn’t want to be caught. Why? What might have seemed a forever hell to Rocky, who had only known the abuse of having been repeatedly kicked and shunned, for months he had avoided all human contact and for good reason.
Fortunately, a Good Samaritan insisted on helping Rocky and fed him, but the longer the dog roamed the streets, the more likely he would be killed. It took a village of people on the ground in the Rio Grande Valley to catch Rocky; thankfully they were successful. Rescue Dogs Rock NYC had already committed to helping.
Never again will two-year-old Rocky be on the streets, and immediately he was whisked away to the rescue’s organization veterinarian partner in San Antonio where he will remain indefinitely.
“Rocky is SAFE and receiving much needed medical care. As you can see in the photo below, Rocky is completely hairless, covered in open sores. Our medical team has done an amazing job, bathing Rocky and meticulously cleaning him up. He’s on quite a few medications and will continue to receive medicated baths.”
