Urgent plea sent from Miami shelter to help five-year-old ‘Gipsy’

A heartbreaking photo of Gipsy has been bringing rescuers together; hoping to support an approved rescue organization who will save her before her time is up. Sadly, the Miami-Dade Animal Services are nearly full and will have to humanely euthanize dogs in order to provide space for incoming cases.

Gipsy was an owner surrender; her health issues should have been addressed by her owner. She will need immediate veterinary care upon release from the shelter.

“Gipsy A1852960: On November 5, 2021 pet received emergency surgery due to pyometra. An urgent plea sent from shelter in an email. Demodex, old corneal ulcer. The female brown and white American bulldog is about five years old and weighs 49 pounds. Both painful conditions. Please pledge for vetting for her.”

Volunteers have posted Gipsy, despite her obvious discomfort, remains very sweet.
