Las Vegas K9 Enzo recovering after stabbing during SWAT standoff

Admin

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police K9 Enzo is a hero on the mend. The brave, two-year-old Belgian Malinois was stabbed multiple times during a SWAT standoff on Friday, March 29th, 2024.

The incident began with a report of a barricaded suspect who had set a fire in their apartment. When SWAT arrived, the suspect emerged armed with a knife. Officers deployed less-lethal options, including deploying K9 Enzo.

During the apprehension, the suspect tragically stabbed Enzo multiple times. Thankfully, officers were able to subdue the suspect and rush Enzo to an animal hospital for emergency surgery.

The Las Vegas community rallied behind Enzo, with officers gathering at the animal hospital to show support. The good news is that the surgery was successful, and Enzo is expected to make a full recovery.

We are relieved to share that K9 Enzo is expected to survive. He is a valuable member of our team, and we are grateful for the outpouring of support from the community.
