Incredibly sweet Belgian Malinois on euth’ list at California high kill shelter

Admin

Her name is Siren (A1786917), and she is described by both staff and volunteers as incredibly sweet. Unfortunately, she waits for her last walk to the last room at the end of the hallway, where she will be euthanized because the shelter is not only in a remote location but is over capacity.

Siren is only two-years-old and has only been at the San Jacinto Shelter for 12 days. According to shelter notes, she already appears to be stressed, and like every dog at this location, it is extremely urgent she gets noticed and either fostered or adopted immediately.

On Friday, a rescue volunteer visited the shelter; Siren was one of the dogs she met:

Her call name is Siren and she is looking for love!! Within a few minutes of visiting her in the shelter, we were able to teach her sit, down, and to heel; with cuddle sessions in between of course!! Sweet Siren was evaluated to have had some basic obedience training prior to our visit with her. She is kenneled with another dog, she had been getting along with well. Upon returning her to the kennel after our brief visit, her kennel mate was trying to push her out of the way for attention and ended up attacking her. Lovely Siren stayed neutral during the confrontation and did not show any signs of aggression. The quick scuffle was easily put to an end and both dogs returned to their normal behaviors.
