In Arlington, Virginia, an 11-month-old puppy was abandoned in the area of Bancroft Park. The Good Samaritan who found the puppy reported he had been in the exact spot where the pup was left in a crate just a half-hour earlier. According to Wusa9News, the puppy is extremely friendly and sweet.
Now named Corn Muffin, the Animal Welfare League of Arlington is caring for him and are hoping to find him the perfect home.

We don’t know why Corn Muffin was left in a crate in a park, or what his life was like before we found him, but we do know that he’s an adorable puppy with so much love to give! Corn Muffin would love to be a part of your family – stop by the shelter to meet him today from 12-7pm!

The organization stated they are non-judgmental, but there are accessible resources available for owners who can no longer afford to care for their pets. It is likely that Corn Muffin was left in an area of high visibility so he would be found quickly, but this is hardly the way to surrender a pet.
Please think twice before adopting a dog or any pet; these precious lives are never to be treated like an old couch to be tossed out when no longer needed.
