St. Pete officer rescues a monkey and a lost dog during the same shift

In St. Petersburg, Florida, a police officer rescued a lost dog and an unknown owner’s monkey during the same shift. First, the lost dog was found wandering the street.

According to a Facebook post by the department on Sunday, the dog caught a ride in the police cruiser before he was transferred to the St. Petersburg Animal Hospital. He was later happily reunited with his family.

And then came a particularly interesting animal rescue. The same officer rescued an injured monkey.

“Lil guy probably had a run in with a dog and was so scared. We turned him over to @MyFWC.”

It is not known who owns the monkey. He is currently being treated for his injuries.

Many thanks to the kind police officer for saving our animal friends in their times of need.
