Photos of a dog too weak to move away from a puddle of water and needing to use her front leg to prop herself up enough to keep her nose out of the water went viral on Tuesday morning. No one was quite sure exactly where the dog was located – her photos were haunting, and for hours rescuers tried to find the location of a dog they named Leah, in order to save her life.
Imagine being so weak you can’t move another inch from the spot you’re in. The spot you’re in happens to have a puddle of water, but you can’t life your head much either, so you have to rest your head on your arm to keep your nose afloat from the water.

For hours, Leah waited in one spot, and it was a Good Samaritan and a team of rescuers from ThisIsHouston who were close by and were able to pick her up.
When they arrived Leah’s head made it into the water. Her nose was bubbling the water and she had blood discharge from her nose. She was like a sack of potatoes when she was lifted up into the car. She was too weak to make any movements.

According to the nearby residents, Leah had been a neighborhood stray for the last six months. Neighbors had named her “Limpy” because her leg was injured. She was afraid of humans and would not let anyone capture her.
Fortunately, Leah is now safe and has been receiving lifesaving veterinarian care at Blue Pearl Emergency Veterinary Care where she remains in critical condition.
